Opportunities for Learning
An important part of our development as a community is our continuous learning about Jesus and his teachings. There are a number of ways to do this. From time to time courses are run which explore aspects of the Christian faith. These courses are advertised on the web site and in the weekly notice sheet.
There are also public talks, such as the Ebor Lectures, in which significant thinkers and public figures reflect on religion and public life.

The Ebor Lectures aim to promote public conversation, contributing to the formation of personal decisions and collective policy-making in economic, political and social spheres. This public engagement of theology constantly requires moving beyond a Christian audience or any religious community to engage public opinion by standing in the gap—the gap of religious, socio-economic and political differences—and trying to provide an alternative view, so that the differences will not lead to confrontation or conflict.
