Help us to restore a medieval masterpiece
The exquisitely painted Great East Window is among the world's largest expanses of medieval stained glass. It was completed by John Thornton of Coventry in 1408.
This window and the East Front which houses it are in great need of restoration.
There are many ways that you can contribute to restoring this magnificent window. You can become one of The Minster Million or Sponsor one of over 2000 stones on the East Front by donating to the York Minster Fund (Charity Number 252157). For further information please see below.

Sponsor a Stone
As we seek to replace over 2000 stones on the East Front, one way of helping is to sponsor a stone. This scheme suggested by HRH the Duke of York suggests three ways of buying a stone:
1. You can give a one off donation of £600
2. You can fill in a banker's order for £10 per month for 5 years
3. You can fill in a banker's order for £5 per month for 10 years
The names of donors will be recorded in the Minster, and their initials will be written on the stone in indelible ink.
If you would like to sponsor a stone, or would like any further information please contact heidic@yorkminster.org.
