Accredited Guides Course
The Accredited Guides Course runs once a year during November and lasts four and a half days including assessment.
The Accredited Guides Course for 2007 will take place between 19th and 23rd November.

Aims of the Course
- To provide all prospective Guides with a detailed history of the Minster.
- To ensure all prospective Guides understand the mission and operating procedures of the Minster.
- To ensure that guides reach an acceptable standard of knowledge and presentation.
Objectives of the Course
- To deliver a course with a range of subject matter relevant to the Minster's history.
- To ensure the course covers all relevant operating procedures and mission.
- Through a written test, ensure the candidates reach the appropriate standard.
Content of the Course
The Course includes tours and lectures on:
- The History of York Minster
- Architecture
- Stained Glass
- Monuments
- Heraldry
- The Stoneyard and York Glaziers Trust
- The Undercroft, Treasury and Crypt
- Health and Safety
- Operational Procedures
