Turning the pages of history: An Exhibition of the History of York Minster Library
A new exhibition has recently opened at York Minster Library - charting its history right from its beginnings in the 8th century to the present day. More than 70 items are on display, including 13th-century manuscripts, a 15th century book of hours, materials from the Golden Age of printing, unique copies of the Wicked Bible and the Charles I Bible from the 17th century, the manuscripts of James Torre and examples from some of our historic donors such as Archbishop Tobie Matthews and Edward Hailstone.
The exhibition is located in the Old Library and will run until Friday 10th October 2008. Entry to the exhibition costs £2.
