Our guided tours are perfect for group travel, families or anyone wanting to learn more about this historical building and are available at 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm, from Monday to Saturday. Tours of York Minster are approximately one hour, and are included in the cost of admission.

Central Tower Trips
There’s no better place for sightseeing in York than from the top of York Minster’s medieval central tower, the highest point in the whole of York.
Climb up the winding tower of 275 steps and 230 feet, passing the medieval pinnacles and gothic gargoyles before stepping out into the open air to experience the best panoramic views of York’s picturesque city centre, spy the hidden alleyways and medieval lanes and beyond the beautiful surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
If you’re only taking a day trip to York or perhaps are visiting for a weekend break, climbing the central tower is one of the must-do activities in York.

There are 275 steps to climb in a narrow space, so there are Health and Safety restrictions, these can be viewed when booking and in the Minster. By buying a ticket you agree to having read these restrictions.
