Plus, your admission ticket to York Minster is valid for 12 months! A free guided tour is included in your admission price, subject to availability. Adult admission starts from just £10 and children under-16 can visit the Minster for free with an adult!

It costs £20,000 a day to run York Minster. Your admission charge directly supports the future of this holy and historic building. In these circumstances we trust you will understand why we charge for entry. No charges are made for those who wish to enter York Minster to pray, light a candle, or attend a service.

    Last admission for general visiting is at 11.30am and the Minster closes at 12.30pm as we host the York St John University Degree ceremonies. Worship times and admission remain unchanged, Holy Communion is at 12.30pm and Evensong at 5.15pm.

    York Minster will not be open for general visiting on 12 and 13 November as we host the York St John University degree ceremonies. The Tower will be open with regular trips, and worship will take place at 12.30pm (Holy Communion) and at 5.15pm (Evensong).
