Your visit to York Minster

The Minster is open daily for early services from 7.00am and usually closes at 6.30pm.

Charges are made for those visiting for sightseeing purposes.

No charges are made for those who wish to enter the Minster to pray or light a candle: please ask a member of staff on arrival.

Times for sightseeing in the Minster

Monday - Saturday: open 9.00am (9.30am November- March);
last entry 5.00pm Sunday: 12.00 noon - 3.45pm

No sightseeing on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
or on Sundays before 12.00 noon

PLEASE NOTE: there are occasions when the Minster is open for services only, and when the Chapter House is closed for meetings or events.  Please contact us in advance to check if open or visit our events calendar
