York Minster Revealed

As part of the exciting York Minster Revealed project, a great deal of work is taking place to improve your experience of visiting York Minster.

Starting in January 2012, during temporary work in the Undercroft, you can enter the Treasury and Crypts through an entrance in the South Quire Aisle or by asking a member of staff.

Then return in 2013, to take an inspirational journey into the redesigned underground chambers of the vast Undercroft and Treasury, revealing York Minster’s past, present and future. Dynamic, new interactive displays will reveal the significance behind York Minster’s history and its most treasured artefacts as never before.

Access will be also greatly improved by installing lifts in the Undercroft, Treasury and Crypts, and by creating a piazza at the South Transept entrance with integrated ramps and new ticketing facilities.

York Minster Revealed is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
