The Diocese of York

York Minster is the Mother Church of the Diocese of York.

The Diocese of York in the Church of England encompasses 602 churches in 469 parishes and serves the area of England spread between the rivers Humber and Tees and from the east coast of Yorkshire to the foot of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Diocese is led and guided by the Archbishop of York, the Most Rev'd and Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu.  The Archbishop is assisted by the Bishops of Hull, Whitby and Selby along with the Archdeacons of the East Riding, York and Cleveland.
